Q & A with Ms. Harley

Passion:

My passion is definitely helping students find the joy in learning math.

Philosophy:

My philosophy for being a successful teacher is recognizing that making a connection with students, both inside and outside the classroom, is key to student learning and academic growth.

Favorite part of teaching:

My favorite part of teaching is making connections with each of my students.  I love to tell them stories about myself and my family, and I enjoy hearing about them and their families.

Favorite teaching memory:

My favorite teaching memories are when former students come back to visit after they have graduated and still remembering “life lessons” from class…and maybe a little bit of math, too!

Favorite thing about St. Martha:

My absolute favorite thing about St. Martha is the people.  I love the storied history and sense of community the school and parish offer.

My hope for my students:

I hope that all of the kids that I have taught over the years will continue to grow as individuals and as a students.

Education:

Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Development and Elementary Education, University of Delaware
