At St. Martha, we’ve embraced technology – and tinkering – and a research-based approach to meeting students’ needs.
This year, we opened our new Makerspace – a STEM Lab where students tinker, create and build using both low and high tech tools as a way to cultivate 21stcentury skills like problem solving, communicating and collaborating.
We also have a 1 to 1 Chromebook program for our middle school, and Chromebooks, Tablets and Smartboards (interactive white boards) are available in all other classrooms. In both our Pre-K and Middle School Math we use Clever Touch boards – think giant iPads – where students can leverage technology and gaming to enhance their learning experience.
Online subscriptions such as MobyMax, Lexia, and STEM Scopes provide additional enrichment and tutorial help for students.
Also new this year is our Learning Lab, where students can work in small group or 1×1 settings to enhance reading skills. Our new Lexia program helps to grow and enhance reading ability for our students in grades K-5. We also onboarded the Barton’s program– specifically for students who’ve been diagnosed with dyslexia.
