Q & A with Mrs. Lang
Passion:
I want students to enjoy coming to school each and every day. I want students to know that our classroom is a place where we may struggle, but we work hard to overcome the struggle to achieve our goals. I think it is important that students understand that everyone is different and it is important to celebrate those differences.
Philosophy:
I believe that students should experience and gain knowledge through creativity and collaboration with one another. My classroom is student-led so students are able to learn the way they learn best. I believe that content should be relatable to students and the real world. Students should understand why the content will benefit them in the future which keeps them more engaged and feel more accountable for their learning.
Favorite part of teaching:
The students! I love building a great relationship with each student. It is amazing to see them get excited about learning and discover new things about themselves and the world.
Favorite teaching memory:
My favorite thing so far is seeing my students succeed after they have struggled and lost their confidence. It is great to see them realize that anything is possible with hard work and determination.
Favorite thing about St. Martha:
I love that even though I graduated 16 years ago, it feels like I never left.
My hope for my students:
My hope for my students is that they alway believe in themselves and that they realize they can achieve anything they put their minds to.
Fun fact:
My husband and I have 2 wonderful children (Isabella, 9 and Oliver, 1). I love spending time with family lounging at home, taking trips to the zoo, riding roller coasters at Kentucky Kingdom, or hanging out with any of our 13 nieces and nephews.
