Paige Middleton

Music Teacher

 

Paige Middleton is excited to start her teaching career at St. Martha! She has spent nearly a decade teaching private voice lessons and working with children’s choirs. In addition to teaching music to our students in preschool through 8th grade, Paige also works with our choir and students who perform in the spring musical.  Paige and her husband welcomed their first baby last spring.

“Creating an environment where every student, no matter the skill level, feels comfortable creating and making music that they love and feel connected to is my passion.”

Q & A with Mrs. Middleton

Passion:

I am passionate about experiencing music in many different ways. We can experience music hands on through singing, playing instruments or games, movement, and creating our own music. We also can experience music through listening, describing, watching, and even reading about it.

Favorite part of teaching:

I love the moment when you are working with a student and they have the “light bulb moment”, where everything they have been working toward and practicing comes together and they know they have made it!

Favorite teaching memory:

I had a voice student that had terrible stage fright and she wanted to work on singing out and feeling comfortable singing in front of people. After a semester of working together she auditioned for a musical at her school and she ended up being cast in a small supporting role and singing in front of an audience!

My hope for my students:

I hope to develop passions for music and inspire creativity and confidence.

Fun fact:

Outside of the classroom I love singing opera, teaching voice lessons, and spending time with my husband and our new baby we welcomed into the world at the beginning of the year!

The Drive…It’s Worth It!

"We drive over 30 minutes each way to get to St. Martha - and it's worth it! We grateful to have found a community of loving, courageous, helpful, kind, genuine people to help us raise our babies - and we're not going anywhere. After 3 years of preschool and with our oldest now in Kindergarten - we know we're where we belong.
A deciding factor and one of the greatest benefits to our family is that SMS offers after school care AND summer care - that are run by SMS staff. My kiddo is in the same place, with people she knows, all year and its priceless!"

She has said multiple times that the students have been so wonderfully welcoming to her that she feels like she’s been at St. Martha since kindergarten. It’s been an amazing transition for her and we are so thankful for everyone who’s been part of her school experience at St. Martha - her new friends, teachers, school staff, and the St. Martha families.
