Q & A with Ms. Haner

Highlight of the year:

I love to watch growth occur for each and every one of my students. When students begin to enjoy and look forward to their classes, that is the best feeling in the world. We will truly have an amazing time in Math and Religion this year!

Passion:

I am passionate about each of my students believing in themselves. I want students to try their best. I am here to help them reach their goals and be the best they can be. We are a team!

Philosophy:

I believe students and a classroom are the most successful when mutual respect and encouragement are established. As an educator, academics are only one factor. Developing the holistic child is essential. I want to provide an educational environment where all of my students can succeed and thrive. This is something we can accomplish together.

Favorite part of teaching:

Students truly bring joy into my life! Their success is my success. I love to interact with my students and connect with them.

My favorite memory from my teaching career:

One of my favorite memories from my teaching career is when I danced Hula with my students at a May Day Celebration in Pearl City, Hawaii. I love any opportunity to be involved within my school community.

My hope for my students:

My hope for my students is that they come into my classroom with a positive mindset and an excitement to learn. I love to make education fun! My students just have to be willing to embrace that fun and have belief in themselves in the process.

My favorite thing about St. Martha:

My favorite thing about St. Martha is the community. I have felt connected and valued since day one. I can’t wait for this journey to continue.

Interesting facts or hobbies:

My hobbies include baking, roller skating (this is new), reading, and movie marathons. I love to go seashell and shark tooth hunting when ever I am on a beach. I sing karaoke for fun and love to dress up for themed events. My mom and her siblings are alumni at Saint Martha and Saint Martha is where I was baptized. I have one sister named Morgan and am an Aunt to my two adorable nephews, Callen and Parker.
