Michael Wheatley is a graduate DeSales High School and Bellarmine University. When Michael is not in the classroom peaking student interest through scientific inquiry, he is on the filed coaching for Bellarmine’s Sprint Football Team.

Q & A with Mr. Wheatley

Highlight of the year:

The highlight of my school year is seeing each of my students develope from the beginning of the year to the end of the year.

Passion:

I am most passionate about seeing students become successful and showing them that anything can be done when they put their minds to it.

Philosophy:

My philosophy is that every student learns differently, so teaching isn’t the same for everyone.

Favorite part of teaching:

My favorite thing about teaching is seeing the impact I am making on the students.

Favorite thing about St. Martha:

My favorite thing about St. Martha is how close the community is and how welcoming they are.

My hope for my students:

My hope for my students is that they enjoy coming into my class and see how special each one of them are. I want them to know that I will believe in them with everything them do.

Fun fact:

I actually attended St. Martha through the 5th grade. It’s fun to be a Shamrock again! Outside of school, I am a coach for Bellarmine University’s Sprint Football Team.
