Emily Lape joins St. Martha’s Leadership Team as our Preschool Director. Emily to us with over a decade of experience working with kindergarteners at Summit Academy. Her background of working with students with varied learning needs is beneficial to our preschool program. Emily and her family are St. Martha parishioners. Her oldest daughter, Lilly, graduated from St. Martha in 2021. Her children, Reese and Bryce, are current Shamrocks.

Passion:

I am most passionate about teaching the whole child.

Favorite part of teaching:

The Lightbulb Moments! I love when your student grasps a concept AND they realize it. Their face lights up and they are so proud.

Favorite teaching memory:

There are so many “favorite” memories, but when I was pregnant, two of my students put balls in their shirts and pretended to be Mrs. Lape.

Favorite thing about St. Martha:

My favorite thing about the St. Martha community is the feeling of being a family.

My hope for my students:

I hope my students grow in all aspects – academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually – while they are with me.

Fun fact:

I have been a part of St. Martha for over 20 years. I started out playing adult sports with my husband, we started our oldest in 2011 in preschool, our middle in 2013 and our youngest in 2021. We love Louisville athletics and going to Rough River.
